COSMETIC DENTISTRY

Everyone likes a beautiful smile. If there is something about your smile that you would like to improve, you have a lot of choices. Porcelain veneers, all-porcelain crowns or simply orthodontics, can give you the smile you desire!

Any dentist can make your teeth look solid white and blocky, the true art to cosmetic dentistry is making the teeth look
natural and compliment your facial profile. We go through great lengths to make your new smile look as natural and
healthy as possible. You can look at our Before/After dentistry section for some examples of our work.

ORTHODONTICS

A great majority of adults have crowded front teeth, even those who had braces as a child and did not wear their
retainers long enough. As long as the way you bite your teeth together is stable, we can often correct the crowding or
spacing in your teeth in as little as six months. We can evaluate your child for orthodontics. In most cases, we can treat
them here in the Renton office. Dr. Scoles is trained in Invisalign, Powerprox and the Tip-Edge technique for orthodontic dentistry.

COMPLIMENTARY WHITENING

We whiten our patient’s teeth at no charge. Once you become a member of our dentistry practice, we will be glad to help you
enhance your smile!

WHITE FILLINGS

Tooth colored or composite fillings have changed the way we do restorative dentistry. Not only can you enjoy the
benefits of having fillings that look just like natural teeth, they have other benefits as well. With composite, we do not
have to take as much tooth away to do a filling and it is adhesively bonded to your tooth. Traditional silver fillings
have no adhesive properties.

CONSCIOUS SEDATION

Conscious sedation via nitrous oxide or oral sedatives is a great way to make dental appointments more enjoyable for someone who is apprehensive or has a fear of receiving dental treatment. Conscious sedation has the benefit of being able to take a pill instead of receiving the medicine through an IV. You will be awake, but very sleepy. The effects wear off in a few hours, and the medicine has an amnesic effect, you won't have much recollection of your appointment!

Nitrous oxide, commonly called laughing gas, is used on patients of all ages and has very few side effects. Nitrous oxide is mixed with oxygen and inhaled through a small mask. The effects of nitrous oxide wear off almost immediately after the mask is removed.

All of our doctors are trained in conscious sedation and maintain the state required levels of continuing education to provide the safest environment for our patients.

CHILDREN'S DENTISTRY

We love kids! We focus on education and preventive dentistry during the first few appointments. Establishing good brushing
habits as early as possible can help keep your kids from ever getting cavities.

We encourage kids to come in for a “play” appointment as early as two. We want their initial visit to be fun and stress free.

Because we feel so strongly about education, Dr. Scoles will come to your child’s class to discuss oral health. Most schools
do not make time for kids to brush after lunch or snack times, we can provide brushes for the entire class!

CROWN & BRIDGE TREATMENT

Dental crowns are dental restorations that cover the entire tooth. We utilize crowns when rebuilding broken or decayed
teeth, as a way to strengthen teeth, and a method by which the cosmetic appearance of a tooth can be improved.

We utilize the most advanced materials when making crowns for our patients. All ceramic restorations will give your
teeth a healthy natural appearance. Porcelain crowns closely mimic natural teeth. The best compliment we can receive
is when you cannot tell we did any work!

IMPLANTS

A dental implant is one option for replacing a tooth. Implants are manufactured devices that are placed surgically in
the jaw, where they function as anchors for replacement teeth. Implants are made of titanium, a material that is one
of the most biocompatible materials available.

An implant looks and feels like a natural tooth. A single implant is a free-standing unit and, unlike a bridge, does not
involve treatment to the adjacent teeth. Implants are the ideal way to restore a missing tooth. They offer better
esthetics, durability, and function.

Dr. Scoles and Dr. Reich have remained current with the latest techniques in restoring implants. Dr. Scoles is a member
of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. You can go to our Before/After section to see examples of implants.

ORAL SURGERY

We pride ourselves on being a comprehensive dental office. Performing oral surgery is one more thing we offer that
may keep you from having to be referred to a specialist. Safety is a concern for us, we utilize a pulse oximeter during
surgery, and the doctors have been trained in advanced cardiac life support. We also have an automatic external
defibrillator in our Renton office.

ROOT CANAL TREATMENT

A root canal is the flesh and blood inside of your tooth. Unfortunately, this part of your tooth can get infected due to
bacterial infection from a cavity, or damaged due to trauma. Root canal treatment is a procedure where damaged or
diseased nerve and blood vessels of a tooth are removed from the tooth and replaced with a filling material. We utilize
the most up to date techniques in performing root canal treatment. This procedure can usually be done in one visit.

MIGRAINE TREATMENT

Some migraines are triggered or exacerbated by the musculature you use to close your mouth. With a small appliance, it is possible to place the muscles in a position where they cannot clench your teeth together. By wearing this appliance at night, your musculature will relax and most patients have a reduction in the severity and frequency of their headaches.
